Is this the most exiting update ever? Certainly not, but it does bring some nice workflow improvements to handle registration and installation of Traktor along your other NI purchases. The biggest benefit is that you no longer needing to find your serial number whenever you upgrade or reformat your computer.
A new Traktor Pro 2 update is coming soon. It includes advanced integration with CDJs, song info sync with iTunes, Scratch certification for DJM mixers, and more. Most exciting however is the release of a public beta. Native Instruments says that for this round of beta testing they will use an open forum so that communication is easy and most effective.

You can use the 2.11.3 side-by-side beta with the released version as any other Traktor update. Feel free to ask in the forum if you are unsure how to launch the release version after you have upgraded to 2.11.3.
The last time Native Instruments launched a new Traktor controller was in 2015, when it introduced the Kontrol S5. The last major update to the Traktor Pro software was in 2016, when NI added a step sequencer for its Remix Decks feature and support for the wireless technology Ableton Link. NI has also been developing its Stems technology and recently launched the Traktor Signatures video series, which speaks to notable Traktor DJs about how they use the software.
Native Instruments announced in early 2018 that an entirely new version of Traktor (both hardware & software) had been under development.[9] The new version, entitled Traktor Pro 3, was released on October 18, 2018.[10]
The S2 hooks into Traktor Pro 3, a big update that introduces a new, flatter and more streamlined look as well as an upgraded audio engine, Elastique 3 time stretching algorithm, new mixer FX and improvements to Flux mode that support the new Reverse button on the S2 - this lets you reverse any deck then release the button and not lose sync, jumping back to where you were.
